Gift from the Earth
Cleansing with Natural Clay Montmorillonite is a new method of cleansing (face washing) that has never been seen before, using "adsorption.
Natural clay, formed over a long period of time, is packed with the energy of the earth. Therefore, it has been used since ancient times to heal the discomfort of the human body and skin. Natural clay has various functions, including adsorption, and has been used in clay therapy (natural therapy) for skincare, health maintenance and promotion, disease prevention and healing. Humans have a natural healing power that tries to return to normal when abnormalities appear in the body. Natural clay enhances the natural healing power that humans originally have and supports the power to return to health on their own. The skin also has the power to repair damaged skin cells and regain the beauty that the skin originally has, so incorporating natural clay into skincare can enhance the natural healing power of the skin that tries to return to trouble-free skin.
Montmorillonite is a super-micro particle clay (clay) contained in a mineral called bentonite. Bentonite is a highly safe ingredient that can be used in cosmetic raw materials, food additives, and even pharmaceuticals, and is listed in the Food Sanitation Law. The clay that has been refined to increase the purity of this bentonite is Montmorillonite.
Among the clays, especially Montmorillonite, which is ideal for skincare, is a super-micro particle crystal that can only be seen with an electron microscope, unlike the clay used for crafting when we were children, and was mined from old strata of the earth (200 million to 500 million years ago).
The crystals of Montmorillonite are layered like millefeuille. One piece of the plate is extremely thin, with a size of 200-300nm and a thickness of 1nm. They form one crystal by layering like millefeuille. If you spread each of these layers, this small crystal will be as large as three tennis courts!
Natural Clay Montmorillonite adsorbs proteins and other organic matter, forms clumps, and removes them. The organic matter referred to here includes foundation, dust, dust mites, mold, bacteria, dust, and dandruff that has peeled off from the skin.
The nano-micro particles of Natural Clay Montmorillonite not only clean the surface of the skin during face washing, but also penetrate deep into the pores and adsorb unnecessary dirt on the skin, such as oxidized sebum and acne bacteria.
If you wash your face every day with salt crystals or high-molecular scrub face wash, you may damage healthy skin, but Natural Clay Montmorillonite is a nano-sized super-micro particle, so it does not hurt the skin and is smooth. On top of that, it can clean up to the back of the pores, which can be called a micro vacuum cleaner.
[Supplementary Explanation] What is *Nano Size?
Nano is a unit of size, 1/1000 of micro (micro). If you line them up in order of size, it will be as follows.
Km (kilo) → m (meter) → mm (milli) → μm (micro) → nm (nano)
The diameter of a normal pore is 0.2mm
One piece of Natural Clay Montmorillonite is approximately 100nm
For example, if Montmorillonite is a ping-pong ball, the pore has adiameter of 800 meters!
Montmorillonite, which is particularly suitable for skincare among natural clays, is a super-micro particle crystal that can only be seen with an electron microscope, unlike the clay used for crafting in childhood, and is mined from old strata of the earth (200 million to 500 million years ago).
When you look at the picture of the Montmorillonite crystal, it is layered like millefeuille. The crystal is a super-micro particle of 2 nanometers (1/500,000 millimeter), which is like a virus, but if you spread each of these layers, this small crystal will be as large as three tennis courts!
The Montmorillonite used in b.glen's Clay Wash has an extremely thin flake shape with a diameter of 100-1000 nanometers. To give you an idea of the size, it's about the same size as the viruses that cause colds.
Just as a magnet attracts things, the principle is that (+ and -) attract each other in electricity, and (+ and +) or (- and -) repel each other.
As shown in the figure on the right, Montmorillonite itself has a "minus nature". On the other hand, water, oil, and other organic matter have a "plus nature".
Due to this nature, Montmorillonite attracts dirt (sebum, foundation left in the pores, acne bacteria, etc.) with a plus nature like a magnet and pulls it into the layers that are layered one after another.
The binding force of plus and minus working on the surface and between layers of Montmorillonite is weak, so when it comes into contact with something containing other ions, the (+) stored between the layers in advance causes an instantaneous exchange reaction with the (+) that the contacted thing has.
Montmorillonite has a property of exchanging each other's (+). Interestingly, this reaction is actively carried out at pH 6.0 or higher.
b.glen's Clay Wash takes advantage of this property and generously embraces effective ingredients for the skin (hyaluronic acid Na, chamomile extract, PCA, water, squalane, PCA-Na, urea, etc.) in Montmorillonite during cream production.
On the surface of the skin and in the pores, it comes into contact with the (+) that the dirt has and releases the useful ingredients it holds.
Due to the ion exchange property, it adsorbs dirt that is charged with (+), such as makeup dirt, acne bacteria, dandruff, old keratin, sebum, etc.
Montmorillonite has a strong holding power that never releases the dirt pulled in by ion exchange. Then, during face washing, the dirt flows down from the skin along with Montmorillonite.
The principle of "removing dirt without damaging the skin barrier" by face washing with Natural Clay Montmorillonite comes from this power of nature, and it has been scientifically proven over a long history.
